Common Vision

Vision casting is creating a team-wide direction that is a singular charge of forward movement toward satisfying organizational goals.

Vision casting is the establishment of a plan that encompasses the structures, the personnel, and the resources of the organization within a mental frame that coordinates and drives action.

In leadership training, it is about asking yourself who you are, and where you are headed.

In this ask, the leader seeks to define “self,” the mission of the organization, and to promote characteristics of culture that will enhance goal achievement. It is about establishing priorities that align resources that support the vision.

Questions to consider:

  1. Who creates the vision, and how do we share it with the full group?

  2. What is the process of translating the vision to an action plan?

  3. How do we monitor and audit the mission?

At Oak Tree Leadership Training, we demonstrate how to generate a collective vision that can be accepted by the full group. We model creating individual and group mission statements that ensure the capacity for vision fulfillment. We encourage structures of feedback loops that audit the ongoing functionality of that vision.
