Creativity

Creativity is developing a problem-solving mindset to promote fresh thinking. It is the challenge of stimulating new ideas.

This is NOT thinking “out of the box,” but thinking in a new box.” It is NOT wild and crazy ideas, but targeted and researched possibilities for change in new directions. Promoting processes that encourage new ideas is the creative tension that stimulates change.

Questions to consider:

  1. Is creativity in response to an issue-driven environment?

  2. What guidelines preclude the promulgation of ideas that are antithetical to organizational goals?

  3. How does the leader reward creativity, but prevent challenges that rebel against preferred organizational direction?

  4. How does the leader operationalize creativity through quality research?

At Oak Tree Leadership, our courses explore methods and practices that are responsive to relevant current issues.

We will demonstrate how to capture the freshness without engendering discord. Leader surveys and program audits will be central to understanding the status quo, and identifying improvement choices. Developing skill in appraising research is determinative in effective use of the “what.”
